Progress Thoughts & Rants
Okay, I’ve definitely been on a dark romance dive, and Jesus fucking Christ, this was a deep one. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be fucked by Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers? Ghostface, perhaps? All of them at once? Me too, bro. This is the book my black soul needed… A quick novella that’s 100% pure smut with a sprinkle of plot. And I. Am. Living. For. It.

What I thought about it
***Possible Spoilers below
Quinn, our heroine, arrived at a Halloween party and was met by her sorority sister soon after entering the fraternity house. While dancing, she was groped by some rando who couldn’t take no for an answer and fuck off. As revenge for her rejection, Rando poured beer over Quinn’s head and called her a b!tch. Before she could even process what happened, the rando was pulled off her and beaten by an incredible specimen dressed as Ghostface. He was joined by a guy in a Jason Voorhees mask, who tried to calm Ghostface down before he killed the guy.

Naturally, Quinn’s intrigued and very turned on (that makes two of us), so she followed them upstairs, and the smut ensued. She began referring to Ghostface as just Ghost and promised him one night before letting him eat her soul out through her cat. Then suddenly they’re joined by “Jason” and another guy in a Michael Myers mask.
…Not my deep fantasy or anything like that *cough* …
But hey, if you’re not sold yet, check out the visual reference below: (credit: cocktailsandscreams)

I mean…

If these men pulled up and rolled down their window, I’d be in that car before they even say hello. Just breathe on me, zaddies.

Quinn lived every girl’s dream and got to be railed by all of them. Together and individually. *fans myself* They obviously became obsessed with her and had wild, feral sex all the time. But they also do something that others may find completely unhinged and psychotic… something I lowkey (not) find so

Ready for what it is? …

They slaughtered her former enemies and then torched the evidence. Don’t worry, Ghost made sure to fuck Quinn in the burning house surrounded by her enemies’ corpses before they vacated the premises. She almost died with his dick inside her. Not sure why that’s a turn-on for me, but I’ll speak to my therapist about it later. ANYWAY. This act of heroism (villainism? Definitely not a word..) wooed our heroine so much with this act of murder that she decided to extend her time with them for more than just a night. Do you blame her? If you do, it’s only because you’re mentally stable. What’s that like? Drop a comment and let me know.
Conclusion
Since this was only a 122-page book, Scream For Us didn’t have a tremendous amount of character development. We get a little more background on Quinn and her past, mainly because we’re in her head, but almost nothing about the guys. The plot was pretty much straight smut. It’s the fantasy of hooking up with a bunch of hot, possessive men in masks on Halloween who’d kill for you. So if you couldn’t gather, it’s one of my favorites.
****Note: This book is followed by a full-length novel that gives the full background of the guys and overlaps with the events in the novella. I have already read it.
