What I thought about it

***Possible Spoilers below

The Method is a 3-hour audio experience by Audible. It’s mainly sounds and dialogue, like listening to a movie instead of watching it.

The Method followed Brent Quill, a struggling actor on the verge of making it big. In an effort to gain more skills, Brent took an online Method Acting course to gain the lead role of a serial killer in a hit TV show. After he landed the role, he continued with the program and slowly began to unravel. As he dived deeper and deeper into the character, Brent began to lose his ability to tell the difference between himself and the character. This caused blackouts and fits of anger that sometimes ended deadly.

Conclusion

I enjoyed this little podcast series. It was hard to get behind at first, but as the story unfolded, I found myself enthralled. Brent, voiced by Zachary Quinto, was every bit as insane as we needed him to be. But then again, that’s Quinto’s schtick. Personally, I’m a sucker for his acting, but that’s just due to my deep-rooted love for American Horror Story. So… basically, I knew this was going to be good going in. Written by James Patterson and narrated by Zachary Quinto? Uh… YES PLEASE.
