🕊️ ➞ Synopsis:

The stories were all wrong — Hook was never the villain.

For two centuries, all of the Darling women have disappeared on their 18th birthday. Sometimes they’re gone for only a day, some a week or a month. But they always return broken.

Now, on the afternoon of my 18th birthday, my mother is running around the house making sure all the windows are barred and the doors locked.

But it’s pointless.

Because when night falls, he comes for me. And this time, the Never King and the Lost Boys aren’t willing to let me go.

The Never King is a dark retelling of Peter and Wendy. If you like your enemies to lovers romance with hot, ruthless, morally gray love interests, you’ll enjoy The Never King and the Lost Boys. You can expect hate kissing, fighting, bickering, and ‘touch her and I’ll unalive you’ vibes.

🕊️ ➞ My Thoughts:

What. A. RIDE! The Never King is a k!nky take on Peter Pan and the Lost Boys. Except, this time Peter Pan is the villain. Our FMC, Winnie, came from a long line of Darling women who’ve been kidnapped by Pan and his three main Lost Boys; Vane, and the twins – Kastian and Bastian. The original Darling, Wendy, stole Pan’s shadow and hid it away to protect Neverland from Pan’s vicious reign. After Wendy’s death at Tinkerbell’s hand, Pan began stealing each Darling girl every generation on their eighteenth birthday in hopes of obtaining the location of his shadow before the island began to die.

The Never King, for me, is a palette cleanser between dense reads. It’s fantasy but just enough to draw you in but exhaust you. Mix that with obscene amounts of smut and you have the perfect romantasy cocktail that keeps it light.

Have you read The Never King? If so, what are you waiting for?! Leave a comment! Tell me what you thought of it! If not, you should read it. Like now, please. ❤️Read it and get back to me. 😉❤️
