🕊️ ➞ Synopsis:
Pippa Fitz-Amobi is not in the mood for her friend’s murder mystery party. Especially one that involves 1920’s fancy dress and pretending that their town, Little Kilton, is an island called Joy. But when the game begins, Pip finds herself drawn into the make-believe world of intrigue, deception and murder. But as Pip plays detective, teasing out the identity of the killer clue-by-clue, the murder of the fictional Reginald Remy isn’t the only case on her mind … Contains mature content, for older readers.
🕊️ ➞ My Thoughts:
I read Kill Joy with my friend after we had already finished the series (whoops lol) and all I can say is the only reason I put it down was because it sparked ideas for my own for a murder mystery party! I loved the setting Connor was able to create as well as the storyline of the 1920s murder. It was awesome to be immersed in that! I was right there with Pip trying to figure it all out! I will say that the ending of the game left me as frustrated as Pip. The ending to that game was too obvious! I liked Pip’s conclusion better. Although, during her whole rant I couldn’t help but wonder where she was getting all this in-depth information from… Anyways, that easter egg with Elliot Ward?! Top tier! Honestly, reading that last helped me appreciate that more.
