What The Vibes Are

What It’s About

This special paperback features cover effects, interior character art, and digital sprayed edges.

Labyrinth meets Beauty and the Beast in this spellbinding, sexy romantasy debut about a woman with a broken heart, the seductive immortal who imprisons her, the magical labyrinth that may be her salvation, and the dangerous attraction that could destroy them both.

Her freedom or her heart…in forty-eight hours, she’ll lose one forever

When a brutal betrayal leaves Nell heartbroken and alone, she makes a desperate wish for love, recklessly offering anything in exchange.

Her plea is heard by Enver, an immortal as wicked as he is beautiful. He sweeps Nell away to his castle that seems to exist out of time and presents her with a bargain: escape his labyrinth within forty-eight hours or surrender to eternity as his lover.

Nell vows to conquer the labyrinth, despite the dangerous attraction she feels for its monstrous ruler. But every stolen moment with him leaves her craving more. And every step deeper into the castle reveals hidden truths about herself…and the curse that holds Enver captive.

Torn between her desire for love and the dark being incapable of loving her, Nell faces an impossible choice. And her time is running out.

What I thought about it

***Possible Spoilers below

Jordan Lynde’s Until The World Falls Down followed a recently heartbroken young woman, Nell, who decided not to mope and went out to a bar instead. While dancing, she was approached by an enigmatic man who coaxed her back to his place. Before doing the deed, he had her agree to a deal while in the throes of passion that she’d stay. He accepted, then, unbeknownst to her, teleported the room to his domain within a labyrinth.

Once Nell realized she couldn’t leave, the stranger, Enver, informed her that he had sought her out after sensing her immense “desperation” and then reminded her that she had agreed to complete his labyrinth. Normally, Enver gave his subjects infinite time to complete the task given to them, but for Nell, he gave her 48 hours.

The labyrinth tasked her with restoring a ruby pendant by helping other participants complete their own tasks. Every time her aid ended in success, a piece of the pendant was restored. Didn’t take long for Nell to realize the pieces were assembled into a heart-shaped ruby.

In between meeting other participants, she gained more and more information on Enver, while also always seemingly ending up back in his castle. During those times, Enver tried aggressively at the art of seduction in hopes that Nell would stay with him forever.

Nell was the perfect hopeless romantic who believed that fixing someone else would, in turn, fix her. What I admired most about this tale was that as she was reconstructing this heart, she was learning how to love and accept herself for who she truly was.

The truth behind the pendant wasn’t surprising, but the other figure from the past was kind of a shocker. I was on the edge of my seat, speed reading to find out what path Enver decided on.

Favorite Quotes

“Heart or not. Love or not. I will always want you. I will always be yours.”

“Until when?” I whispered.

“Until the world falls down,” he promised.”

“I would unravel the constellations and lay them at your feet,” he promised softly. “I would tear the stars from the sky and build you a throne of stardust and worship you upon it until the end of time. All you have to do is say yes.”

“Do you not know? I am already yours. I was yours from the very moment my gaze first fell upon you. I am yours now, even when you will not offer yourself back to me. And I will continue to be yours even after you leave me. There will never come a day when I am not yours entirely and irrevocably. I may not be able to love you, but I am yours nonetheless.”

Conclusion

Until The World Falls Down was a captivating, spicy romantasy written for the hopeless romantics who want a love that transcends time and curses. The atmosphere was like jumping down the rabbit hole and experiencing interactions you never thought of before. I loved this book. Nell reminded me a lot of a dear friend of mine, so Until The World Falls Down will always be a little special for me.
