Read the Novel, Watch the Film
After reading the novel first, I decided to watch the movie. Honestly, I loved Netflix’s version; the motive, the killer, and some of the characters changed, and with those changes, Netflix satiated all the things I felt the book was lacking or missed an opportunity.

Cornfields & Blood
I found Someone’s Inside Your House entertaining. This was an audiobook listen, and I was definitely at the end of my seat in the office, hoping no one would interrupt me with a task. Haha. The anticipation was real. The author was great at building up anticipation and gory imagery.

Secrets & Screams
I enjoyed the plot of The Mary Shelley Club. I did find it a bit lengthy. There was a lot of character development and such, but no action until the last hundred pages. The plot twist was amazing. Moldavsky left the ending open-ended. I’m definitely hoping she writes a sequel.

Into the Buffyverse
Kiersten White’s Slayer dived into the world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and followed Athena, daughter of Buffy’s first Watcher, as she dealt with the implications of being a Slayer. Set shortly after the TV show’s series finale, White re-exposed the world to the Buffyverse from a whole new perspective. Decent read.

Welcome to Emberfall
Brigid Kemmerer’s A Curse So Dark and Lonely was a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast with a very different twist than the story we all know and love. Although set in the present, we were transported to a world filled with magic and mystery. I love a good fairytale retelling.
